We decided to do a Christmas dinner party at a lovely Italian restaurant in a reserved room so none of us would have to cook laboriously nor clean up. The restaurant had so many positive things to make a wonderful dinner party besides great food; the restaurant had a great ambiance and great service as well. The room was warm and inviting with elegant decor but we were not afraid to add our own touches to make it more personal and special. Here is a list of a few things you can do to dress up and personalize a dinner party that is not held in your home but you still want a warm and inviting feeling.
1. With your menu planned in advance, create your own personalized menu cards that coincides with your dinner's theme and colors.
2. Bring some of your own table linens such as runners to spruce up the restauraunt's plain white or ivory linens.
3. Bring your own flowers and decorative focal items for centerpieces.
If space allows, create interest areas such as a candy bar.
